Can I try the AI fanfiction generator for free without signing up?+
Yes. Enter a fandom or original universe, characters and a story idea to generate and read your first chapter without an account. Choose Save & Continue and sign in to keep it in your private library. The anonymous first chapter uses no Credits; it is a limited trial, not unlimited free generation.
Can FicWeave continue the same fanfic across multiple chapters?+
Yes. After Save & Continue, open the story from My Stories and choose Continue Story to write the next chapter. Saved chapters stay together in that story, so you can return later and read earlier chapters. Continuation requires available Credits and a story within your plan’s editable limit.
What story details does FicWeave carry into the next chapter?+
Continuation uses your story setup, a bounded summary, selected Characters, Relationships, Important Facts and Open Threads, plus recent chapters. Open Threads track unresolved questions or promises. Free uses up to 1 recent chapter; paid plans use up to 6, subject to context limits. It does not reread the whole novel on every request or guarantee perfect recall.
Can I see and correct what the AI remembers about my story?+
Yes. Open a saved story and review its Story Memory panel (the Memory tab on mobile). AI-created items show their source chapter. Free Memory is read-only. With Pro, Pro+ or Max, use Edit on a character description, relationship or fact, then save. For an open thread, use Mark resolved or Mark dropped to update its status. For example, correct who owns a compass before continuing. User-edited items are protected from later AI Memory updates; this does not rewrite earlier chapters or guarantee the next chapter follows every detail.
How is FicWeave different from writing fanfiction in a chat window?+
FicWeave combines a private story library, chapter navigation, a continuation workspace and visible, source-linked Story Memory. You can review what is remembered without assembling the context yourself each time. The difference is the writing workflow; FicWeave does not promise better prose than ChatGPT or perfect continuity.
What can I do for free, and when do I need a paid plan?+
Try the anonymous first chapter for free. After sign-in, Free includes 3 one-time starter Credits that never expire, 1 editable story and read-only Memory. A standard saved continuation uses 1 Credit. Paid plans add monthly Credits, more editable stories and Memory editing. Pro starts at $7.99/month with 100 Credits per subscription month. Subscription Credits expire each month without rollover; annual plans charge once and grant Credits monthly. See Pricing for current plans and checkout availability.
What happens when my Credits run out?+
Your saved stories, chapters and Story Memory remain readable. Writing more requires available Credits; stories outside your plan’s editable limit are read-only. Paid monthly allowances refresh each subscription month. Annual subscribers receive Credits monthly, not all at once. Story Memory updates use no Credits.
Can I buy one-time Credit Packs instead of subscribing?+
No. Credit Packs are no longer offered for new purchase. Current paid options are Pro, Pro+ and Max subscriptions, billed monthly or annually. Existing pack transactions retain their applicable historical terms; contact support about a previous purchase.
How can I check Story Memory on my own story?+
Save your first chapter, then choose Continue Story with available Credits. The first continuation starts extraction of the first chapter's pending Memory. After continuation and the Memory update succeed, compare a character detail, a relationship and an unresolved thread with their source chapters. Before a later continuation, paid users can edit a remembered character description, relationship or fact and inspect the result; Free Memory is read-only. The public sample chapter is an authored illustration, not an AI generation or a completed Memory test.
Is FicWeave a no-filter or explicit-content generator?+
No. FicWeave supports general fiction, romance, dark themes, fictional violence and non-explicit mature themes, but does not allow explicit sexual content or sexualization of minors or identifiable real people.
