Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy explains how FicWeave, an independent AI writing tool, handles information when you visit the site, create an account, generate a chapter, save a Story, or use Story Memory.

Information we handle

• Account data: name, email address, authentication records, and account preferences.
• Story data: prompts, generated chapters, saved Stories, chapter versions, Characters, Relationships, Facts, Open Threads, and edits you make.
• Generation data: model and provider identifiers, status, token counts when available, duration, error codes, and usage settlement records. We do not intentionally store private model chain-of-thought.
• Technical data: IP-derived anti-abuse signals, request timing, browser/device information, cookies, and security logs needed to operate the service.
• Product analytics: page and feature events if an analytics provider is configured. Story text is not intended to be placed in general analytics events.

Why we use information

We use information to provide authentication, generate and save stories, build Story Memory, enforce allowances and content rules, secure and debug the service, respond to support requests, understand product reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

Providing the service may require transmitting limited data to hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, and AI model providers. In particular, story inputs and relevant context are sent to the configured AI provider to generate prose or structured Story Memory. Providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers acting for us, when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or to protect users and the service.

Retention and security

Saved Stories remain available until deleted or removed under an account/data request, subject to operational backups and legal obligations. Anonymous browser drafts expire locally under the product's draft rules. Generation diagnostics are minimized and are not intended to contain full private Story text. We use access controls and encryption in transit, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can update basic account information through account settings. Export and self-service permanent deletion are not yet complete product features. You may use the Contact page to request access, correction, deletion, or information about your data. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children

FicWeave is not intended for children who cannot legally consent to online services in their jurisdiction. The Content Policy prohibits sexual content involving minors.
